In his more than two decades of nonprofit leadership, Ben has served as CEO of a Social Enterprise program, Executive Director, Interim Executive Director and Director of Marketing and Communications. He currently provides Interim Executive Director services, as well as consulting on social enterprise, marketing and communications, fundraising, and operational issues for nonprofit organizations. He focuses on the environment, workforce development, education, social enterprise, and reuse and recycling.

Ben knows that leading high-functioning nonprofits is as challenging as managing for-profit organizations. But at the end of the day, he greatly appreciates the feeling of having left the world a little bit better, which only working in the nonprofit sector provides. Thanks to his experience in both tech startups as well as successful nonprofit social enterprises, he offers a unique viewpoint on operating sustainable social enterprises and nonprofit organizations, especially when launching new programs and during periods of transition.

Ben is the author of Ben Delaney’s Nonprofit Marketing Handbook, and Virtual Reality 1.0: the 90’s. He has served on several nonprofit boards, and has experience working with local and state government, helping to set policy and developing public-private partnerships.
