After dedicating over 40 years to the Wealth Management industry, Richard has transitioned into prominent leadership roles within various non-profit and advocacy organizations. His endeavors reflect a steadfast commitment to advancing equity, building community, and embodying justice in the world.

Richard’s wealth of mission-driven experience is highlighted by his service as the Board Chair for the Community Foundation Sonoma County, and previous Board Chair and Treasurer roles for the Horizons Foundation. He’s also given over a decade to being a Trustee at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and has offered his expertise to the Professional Advisors Committees of several institutions, including the San Francisco Foundation, the Jewish Federation & Endowment Fund, and the SF Contemporary Jewish Museum.

As the past president of the Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council, Richard was distinguished by the SF Business Times in 2018 as one of the Bay Area’s Outstanding Voices.

Throughout the past 20 years, Richard has also devoted himself as an advocate for a California Regional Center “consumer”. His academic accomplishments include a certificate in Sustainable Investing from UC Berkeley Extension and completion of Interim Executive certification training offered by the 3rd Sector.

Richard brings to the table a compelling public speaking presence and vast executive experience, having contributed significantly to the growth of several Bay Area organizations. He holds designations as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and a Certified Financial Planner, having earned his BA in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Richard and his husband Bill delight in international travel, maintaining two freshwater tropical aquariums, and make their home in San Francisco and Cazadero (Sonoma County).
